The town of
Walkersville shows tremendous support
for Walkersville High School. As well as enjoying
academic success, we enjoy watching over 700 WHS
athletes participate in 27 different sports. 9 in
the Fall, 10 in the Winter, and 8 in the Spring. To
us it is not just a game, it's a community event!
The Lion's outdoor stadium has served us well for
nearly thirty years! When we opened the gates it
was the first class facility of the time. Now it
needs some improvement. Unfortunately, school
budgets are so tight, that they can only address the
basic needs of a stadium like ours. Our community
has launched a campaign to raise the $3 million to
make proposed improvements to our complex. These
plans still need to be approved by the Frederick
County Board of Education. Please join us in making
these dreams come true.
